A trivia is a security question game that you assign to your team members. Here you define how many questions it has, which categories they come from and with which email people are invited, and you can add your own questions to the question bank.

You'll arrive at the Trivia Management screen with the list of the ones you've already created. If there aren't any yet, "There are no trivias here yet!" appears with the Create Trivia button.
Click on New Trivia. A single screen opens with three blocks, and a single Save button at the end: they aren't steps, you fill them all in before saving.
General Settings
Title — the name your people see. The field comes with five suggestions to choose quickly: Desafío Mental, Reto de Sabiduría, La Gran Trivia, Mentes en Juego, and Responde y Gana.
Language — defines what language your people play in and also which questions you can choose in the next block.
Number of Questions — between 2 and 10. This is the amount that each person will answer.
The number of questions cannot be changed afterward. Not from the edit screen, where the field is disabled, nor by any other way. If you need a different amount, you need to create a new trivia.
Questions
On the left are the five categories, as cards: Compliance and Best Practices, Passwords and Authentication, Privacy and Data Protection, Digital Threats, and Device and Network Security. Click on one and its questions will be listed on the right so you can mark the ones you want to include. Select all marks all the questions in that category at once.
Each category needs at least as many questions as the total you chose. If you set 10 questions, you need 10 or more in each of the five categories — not 2 per category. As long as one falls short, saving is blocked with the message "At least 10 questions from <the missing category> are required."
The reason is how the game works: before each question, the trivia randomly draws which category it will come from. Since the draw is independent each time, the same category can come up several times in a row —up to all 10, in the worst case—, and that's why each one needs enough questions to cover the entire trivia on its own.
The question list is filtered by the language chosen above. If you change the language after having marked questions, you'll see a different list: review the five categories before saving.
The Subject and the Content of the email that invites people to play. Both are required and come with default text that you can replace.
When you save, "Trivia created" appears and you'll return to the list.
The New Question button, at the top right of the trivia list, opens Custom Questions: your company's question bank, which coexists with Whalemate's when you build a trivia.
With Add Question you fill in:
Question — the statement.
Category — one of the five. Defines which card it will appear in when building the trivia.
Language — the question only appears in trivias of that language.
Correct Answer — only one.
Incorrect Answer 1, 2… — add them with Add Answer.
Click on Confirm and "Question created" appears. The bank table can be filtered by Category and Language. When deleting one, the system asks for confirmation: "Are you sure you want to delete this question?"
If you delete from the bank a question that's already part of a trivia, the trivia keeps it: it keeps appearing marked when you go to edit it. What you can no longer do is use it in new trivias.
In the three-dot menu of each trivia, the Edit option opens the Edit Trivia screen: the same form with everything loaded —the title, the language, the marked questions, and the email—. The Number of Questions is disabled.
You cannot edit a trivia that has active enrollments. If someone has it assigned with a current deadline and hasn't completed it yet, the change is rejected with the notice "You cannot update a trivia with active enrollments." —the message still appears in English—. This is a difference from courses, which can be edited while your people are taking them. To change a trivia that's in use: wait for the deadline to pass, or cancel the open enrollments from Enrollments and reassign it afterward.
If you choose to cancel the enrollments, keep in mind that the result of whoever had already played is lost: canceling an enrollment cannot be undone. If you're interested in keeping the results, it's best to wait for the deadline to expire.
The same menu has Delete, which asks for confirmation: "Are you sure you want to delete this trivia?"
And the other two menu options are Enrollments, to assign it and see who has it, and Ranking, to see the results. Both have their own documentation.
I set a 10-question trivia and it asks me for 10 in each category. Shouldn't it be 2 per category?
No: the minimum for each category equals the total you chose, so a 10-question trivia needs 50 marked questions in total. This is because the trivia randomly draws the category for each question, and a single category could come up all 10 times.
I changed the language and the questions I had marked were cleared.
The question list depends on the language, because each question is written in only one. Changing it changes the available set. Go through the five categories again and re-mark before saving.
I want to fix a trivia I already assigned and it won't let me save.
It's because it has active enrollments: someone has it with a current deadline that hasn't been completed. Wait for them to expire, or go to Enrollments and cancel the ones that are open; afterward you can edit it and reassign it.
Can I change the number of questions on a trivia that already exists?
No. It's the only piece of data that stays fixed when it's created. If you need a different amount, create a new trivia with the same questions.
Do my own questions replace Whalemate's?
No, they're added together. When you build a trivia you see both together in the corresponding category and language, and you choose which ones go in.
